State Governments Provide Home School Laws

Each state in the country has home school laws to protect the interests of young children. All of the states have a different set of laws although most cover the important aspects to protect children and insure that they get an education. Each parent who intends to home school should carefully check the home school laws and follow them. The laws govern the basics including the requirement of parents to notify the school superintendent if the parent intends to home school a child. There are associations that assist parents so they understand the laws in each state.

Home school laws do not prescribe curriculum or materials, but these home school laws govern the basic requirements for opting out of compulsory attendance at a traditional school.
