If you have decided that you would like to educate your children, and you want to set up a Georgia home school for them to learn in, there are several things that you should know.
First Things First
The first thing that you need to know before you set up a Georgia home school is that you are going to be responsible for teaching your children the same things that are in the Georgia state standards for teaching. This doesn’t mean that you can’t teach them other things, and that you can’t go farther with their learning than is done in the public schools. However, you should know that in the state of Georgia, a Georgia home school must have their students pass tests at the end of each year that will tell the state officials that these students are learning at least the same things that are found in the classrooms in Georgia.
These rules are put into effect because the state wants to make sure that in a Georgia home school, students are still getting a good education. It is not important to them which religion you are or are not teaching the students, or how you deal with things that might be controversial, as long as your children are passing the same grade level material that other students their age are able to do.
